General Contracting- Emerald Builders can orchestrate every aspect of your construction project from preliminary planning to the hiring and coordination of subcontractors. Over the years we have built valuable relationships with experienced industry professionals such as plumbers, electricians, designers, and architects.
New Construction- Emerald Builders will work with you to create your new home, office, barn, or whatever you can dream up. We use local and environmentally friendly products whenever possible, and can also incorporate recycled or reclaimed materials should you desire. All of our new construction is built to and beyond Energy Star standards. We can also build to the US Green Building Council’s LEED standards.
Restoration & Preservation- Emerald Builders restores old or damaged structures. Our restoration services include sill repair, rebuilding of compromised framing, and comprehensive restoration. Older buildings are often compromised over the years due to lack of maintenance and “quick-fix” repairs. It is important to us that the repairs to older homes are done in a traditional manner, while at the same time improving durability and efficiency. For instance, when replacing posts or beams in a timber frame, we use timbers and joinery that are consistent with the original frame; we often use replacement timbers from the same time period that have been salvaged.
Renovation and Remodeling- Rather than always building new, upgrading your existing space can be the solution to making your building a better place to live and work. Emerald Builders would love to transform your current space into something new that you can enjoy for years to come.
Architectural Salvage- Unfortunately, when a building has outlived its usefulness, becomes unsafe, or is simply no longer wanted; a common solution is either to burn it or bulldoze it. However, very often there is still useable material in these structures. Dimensional lumber, boarding, and fixtures can often be salvaged and used again. We disassemble whole timber frame barns and houses piece by piece so that they may be reassembled in another location.
